Mel Assagai has successfully represented a wide range of public and private organizations, businesses, and individuals before the California State Legislature and government agencies for over twenty-three years. He leads California Policy Solutions government affairs and communications practice where he leverages his unique ability to create and manage strategies that address constantly changing public policies and opinions to aid clients in business, industry and government.
Mr. Assagai is recognized for his talent in legislative research and planning, bill tracking, public relations, coalition building, and PAC management. He built his considerable expertise in government and politics while working as chief lobbyist and senior executive for governmental affairs for the State Bar of California and as chief of staff and press secretary to California Senate President pro Tempore David Roberti.
Mr. Assagai has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and has taught government and communications at the University of California, Davis and California State University, Sacramento respectively.
